Concerning mad food, knowest thou my Modest Proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People in Ireland from Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Publick, my pamphlet satirical (although many good people, Myself included, understand this not) from the Year of Our LORD 1729 AD, wherein I make many a suggestion for the people of Ireland to ease their economic troubles?
Mr. Swift - a very laudable initiative, dear Sir. I will take steps to implement it in my native country forthwith (even though we're not experiencing a food shortage at the moment - we'd better be on the safe side).
